International Botanical Congress Travel AwardsTogether with the American Bryological and Lichenological Society, the American Fern Society, the American Society of Plant Biologists, the American Society of Plant Taxonomists, the Mycological Society of America, the Society for Economic Botany and the National Science Foundation, the Botanical Society of America is pleased to offer travel awards of at least $2,000 each to the International Botanical Congress in Shenzhen, China. (July 23-29, 2017) The IBC is the largest international conference in plant biology and extends the broadest disciplinary coverage of any such conference. It provides an opportunity for plant scientists of all disciplines to showcase their research to peers from around the world, while fostering communication and collaboration in ways that only can develop from the sort of personal interactions and networking that occur at such conferences. The IBC is held every six years and serves a critical role in international communication within and across disciplines in plant biology, as well as a valuable opportunity to establish international collaborations. Application Requirements: Applicant must be a current graduate student, PostDoc, or junior faculty (3 years or less since first appointment) Applicant must be a US citizen, permanent resident or a non-citizen currently studying or working at a US institution. Applicant must first submit an abstract to present at the IBC 2017 so that the abstract may be used in the travel award application form.
