Primarily Undergraduate Institution (PUI) Faculty and Future Faculty Conference Awards

The Botanical Society of America and PUI section are pleased to have given 8 travel awards in the amount of $250 each to the BOTANY 2022 conference in Anchorage, Alaska. The PUI section also anticipates additional grant funding that will substantially cover travel to the conference, registration, and housing expenses for an at least 14 members to participate in some or all the PUI-sponsored events throughout the conference. The aim of this award is to support PUI faculty and future faculty in attending the half-day workshop on inclusive undergraduate research student mentoring. A PUI is defined as colleges and universities that award fewer than 20 Ph.D. degrees in all NSF-supported fields during a two-year period. PUI faculty and future faculty (e.g. graduate students and post-docs) who conduct (or will conduct) mentored undergraduate research are strongly encouraged to apply. U.S. Residency is not a requirement to apply for the $250 award but is a requirement for the grant-funded award. You may apply to both awards.

You must have a current BSA membership in order to have applied. Applicants must attend in-person the PUI section-sponsored workshop on Sunday morning July 24.
