Developing Nations Travel Awards

The Botanical Society of America is pleased to offer several travel awards in the amount of $1,000 each for the BOTANY 2025 - Botany without Barriers conference in Tucson, Arizona July 26-30. It is our goal to encourage international collaboration and foster connections within our international botanical community by extending financial help to those in need of assistance to attend this important conference. 

Applicants for the Developing Nations travel award must be living in and traveling from a developing nation (excluding China) to the conference. Applicants must be current members of the Botanical Society of America. Applicants must also present an oral presentation or poster during the conference. Applicants must not have won this award the year before. 


APPLICATIONS:

In the award submission you will be required to provide your name, institutional affiliation, address and email, title of your abstract, a link to your submitted abstract and a one-two paragraph statement about why attending BOTANY 2025 is important to you and your career in the botanical sciences.

Deadline is March 3, 2025.

Current BSA members can access the awards portal by clicking here and logging in with your BotanyID/Password. Once signed in, click on the "2025 - Developing Nations Travel Awards" link and you should see a blue button that says "+ Create New Travel Award Application" at the bottom if your login was successful.

This travel grant will be awarded by a lottery. Checks for the travel award will only be distributed in US dollars on site at the meeting in Tuckson to the winners.
